My Career Goals
-
Making an Impact
Giving back to the community of academia, which has given me so much, is one of the most important things to me. Teachers and peers have shaped my entire life, and I want to make my life’s work to passionately aid this community that is so often forgotten about.
-
Personal Growth
Wherever I work, I hope to be challenged daily, so that I may properly introspect and be the most efficient worker I can be. I believe feedback and accountability are the highest priority in work, because of the benefit they can have not only for myself, but the entire team.
-
Being Part of a Community
I hope that whatever team I am working with values employee health and community building. Mindfulness and mental wellness are prioritized in my life, and I hope would be prioritized in my future professional community as well.
Where do I see myself in 10 years?
In reality, who knows where I may be in ten years - but I believe one can subconsciously alter the self to reach goals through positive future thinking. Ideally, I will be a working attorney who inspires students in higher education to find their passion within the law. I hope to find a way to incorporate my love for education and teaching within my law practice, whether that be working directly with students or being part of community programs that bring supplemental education to students. I admire a college professor I had, Professor William Purdy - who alongside teaching us at the undergraduate level, was also teaching classes at UCLA School of Law, and was a secondary teacher at a local high school. So engrained into deeper academia, but still so connected to the student experience. Through his class, Education and the Law, I found a passion for understanding the state-based education systems in the United States and found a deeper frustration in the lack of comprehensive sex education for students across the US. I hope to make a change in this realm and learn more about its intricacies as I grow through my career.
